How streaming works,

How it works is someone somewhere in the world records a show. They then upload that recording to a server and share a link on the internet so anyone who wants to watch that show can. 

Streaming apps and add-ons catalogue these links to shows so you can pick a show, click a link and start watching. 

There are also apps for streaming live tv and sports. For these, you choose a channel or network.

Are there any monthly costs?

No there aren’t.

What is Real Debrid?

Real Debrid is a premium stream provider. It’s an optional service you can choose to subscribe to.

Real Debrid has a collection of streams only available to subscribers. That means you get access to more links that start faster, are available with higher resolutions, and rarely buffer. Below is a picture showing Real Debrid links in purple, free links in white. Real Debrid subscribers get 8 links whereas those without Real Debrid only get 2 links for this show.

Real Debrid also acts as a VPN meaning your internet provider won’t know what you’re watching for those who want privacy.

What speed internet should I have?

We recommend a minimum of 25 Mbps for better streaming. If your speed is slower than 25 Mbps, you’ll want to subscribe to a streaming enhancement service that will push shows to you faster to compensate for your lower download speed. The streaming enhancement service we recommend costs $25 for a 6-month subscription.

To learn what internet download speed you have, go to That website will run a speed test and give you your download speed. We recommend you run a speed test during peak hours (5 pm to 10 pm for a realistic idea of your speed).

Do I need one tv box or Firestick per tv?

No. You can move your tv box from tv to tv but we don’t recommend that as it’s hard on the HDMI port.

Do I need a VPN?

We don’t use one.

How often will I need to update my tv box/Firestick?

There is no timeline on how often you’ll need to update but most customers update every 6 months or so. We use a variety of android apps and Kodi add-ons so you have lots of different streaming sources to use.

We offer 3 choices to our customers for future updates, they can use the step-by-step instructions on our website to update their tv box themselves anytime they want, they can bring us their tv box to update or we can remotely update their tv box.

What is your return/refund policy?

All sales are final.

We offer a 30-day hardware exchange on items deemed by Home Arcade In A Box to have a factory hardware defect. Factory defective items are eligible for an exchange with in-stock merchandise when returned with all components and original packaging and receipt.

The purchaser is responsible for bringing/mailing the item to Home Arcade In A Box’s location in Sherwood Park, AB.
